Great fit -- the ankles do not ride up because there is plenty of material, yet it doesn't look like there is too much (I am 5'4" for reference). Love the wide waistband and how it holds me in and smooths everything out. I only wish I'd found these sooner -- I would have 10 pairs by now, lol!
